Trickriding originally started with Cossack cavalry officers, who were looking for ways to outsmart their enemies.
As Cossacks emigrated to the US, trickriding was immediately appreciated by the American cowboys. They added the Cossack styles and tricks to Native American horsemanship techniques used for hunting and battle.
Trickriding and fancy riding as we now know it was born.
